Karen Cooke is a Shareholder of the firm. Ms. Cooke’s practice includes medical malpractice, long-term care, and health care litigation. Ms. Cooke is admitted to practice in the New York (1989), Maryland (1999), and District of Columbia (2011) State Bars. She is also admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York (1989), and the U.S. District Court of Maryland (2009).

Ms. Cooke received her undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1978. She graduated from Brooklyn Law School in New York in 1988 where she was Co-Chair of the Moot Court Honor Society.

Ms. Cooke worked as an associate at Mound, Cotton & Wollan in New York City where she represented insurance companies in state and federal courts. In 1995 she relocated to the Washington metropolitan area. She became associated with the firm of Coggins, Harman & Hewitt for twelve years where her civil litigation practice focused on torts, personal injury, and medical malpractice.

Ms. Cooke joined Gleason, Flynn, Emig & McAfee, Chartered in 2010, promoted to Member in 2015 and later promoted to Partner in 2020.
